The regatta has been held consistently on the Isis River in Oxford since 1841, with only occasional interruptions due to war. Originally organized by one of the clubs that later formed CORC, the regatta features a comprehensive program of British Rowing open events, including highly competitive races for men, women, juniors, and mixed crews.
WHEN: Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August 2024
- Saturday 17th August: 1000 m
- Sunday 18th August: 500 m
Traditional two-lane, side-by-side racing takes place downstream over distances of 1000 meters and 500 meters on a river course. The events are available for various boat classes across open, women’s, mixed, adaptive, masters, and junior categories.
Sprint Eights 350m
On Saturday, the CORC will host both men’s and women’s events, and on Sunday, a mixed race. All clubs with entries on the respective days and at least 8 rowers in the draw will be invited to enter the Lunchtime Sprint Eights event on the same day. Mixed crews on Sunday must include at least 4 women (excluding the cox).
All crew members, including the cox, must be from the same club and must be participating in the regular regatta events that day. Each club must provide their own eight for the race. Invitations will be sent out after the draw is published.
This non-qualifying event takes place over approximately 350 meters during the lunch break. The doubling-up rules do not apply to Super-Sprint Eights as the event occurs only during lunchtime.
The entry fee is £60 per crew, payable by cash or card on the day.
Information
Entries are now open and must be submitted by 12:00 on August 10th. Payment should be made online through the British Rowing Online Entry system; unpaid crews will not be included in the draw. Please note that each day (Saturday and Sunday) is listed as a separate event on BROE2. Ensure you enter for the correct day, as entries cannot be moved between days.
Entry fees are £15 per seat for all events, except for single sculls, which are £18.
Racing licenses must be presented as the regatta is affiliated with British Rowing.
Important note regarding the draw: Events with fewer than four entries may not run. In such cases, crews or scullers will be moved to the next higher status event available in the same morning or afternoon division. If this is not possible, the event may be removed from the program. Crews not wishing to move to a higher status should clearly state this on their entry, particularly Masters who do not want to race in younger age groups, or Juniors not wanting to compete in higher age groups.
Doubling up is not permitted within a morning or afternoon division for competitors, coxes, or boats. However, they may race twice each day, once in the morning division and once in the afternoon division.
